Sponsorship
for the Wilson High Key Club: The Kiwanis Club of Alhambra
will sponsor the Key Club but they do not have the funds to support.
Division 10 will provide the funds. A Circle K club is being formed
at California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA) and will be
sponsored the Kiwanis Club of Monterey Park. CSULA High School
for the Arts wants a Key Club. They will be asked to join with
the Wilson Key Club and be supported by Division 10.
Holiday Ornaments:
Two Hundred Eighty-Eight ornaments have been ordered for the first
batch. There was a discussion on ordering more of last year's
ornament as they are being marketed as collectibles. It was decided
to have convention attendees and others to sign a list to see
if there is enough interest before spending the money to order
more.
Medallion
Marketing:
At Don Medley's discussion of how the Kiwanis Club of Camarillo
"sold" a Rose Medallion, President Marsha that the Committee/Board
go to clubs and DCM's and explain how to set up a board where
numbered squares are sold and a winning square number is drawn
for the Medallion. Craig Wallace said that a prototype board with
squares can be downloaded from the Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation website.
Craig also announced that if the transfer of the Medallion program
is made from the KIF to the CNH Foundation then matching funds
are being sought to kick off the program. The transfer is being
discussed because KIF will be heavily involved with their new
Worldwide Service Program. Thus, even though it is still a KI
project, the CNH Foundation can better manage the Medallion program
at this time.
