On
Friday, January 1, 2010 millions of spectators from around
the world saw Kiwanis at its best during the 121st Tournament
of Roses Parade as the Kiwanis entry won the Isabella Coleman
Award, for best presentation of Color & Color Harmony
through floral use.The Award was the 14th earned since Kiwanis
first became a part of the Annual New Years Day Event in
1984. Over 7,000 Kiwanis Family volunteers were used to
decorated the Kiwanis Entry, "Above The Rest"
and eight others built by the Phoenix Decorating Company.
The Kiwanis Club of Rose Float was chartered in 1983 to
design and produce the annual float and to procure the 7,000
volunteers needed each year. The design for 2011 will be
released in February and the Club will go about its duty
of building another award wining float.
